Their concurrency models are very similar. One advantage BEAM had for a long time is preemption is built into the VM and based on reductions. Go didn't have true preemption until 1.14 (before that it could only preempt at function boundaries) and its a very complicated implementation based on async signals sent from a runtime thread.
I see how it works but all you're doing is making more efficient use of the given parcel of land. The value of the land already prices in its development potential. A parcel that could legally, physically, and feasibly accommodate a high rise will be worth more.
Open book exams IME are usually more difficult, since the exams can be crafted on the assumption that you don't need to dumb anything down since students can look up certain things.

Replace the profs with ai. Force every student to do a three hour one on one interview test with the ai prof to demonstrate mastery and get a final grade. Have other ai proctor. Replace homework with similar “ai sessions” where the student is guided by ai and given specific exercises tailored to the students learning trajectory and personal profile. Students can and will learn better with ai “professors” than they do now. The problem is that higher education is not about learning ultimately. The problem is ai in education is that ai exposes the lie, it was never about learning, it was about credentials, money and control.

D2's layout engine TALA [1] actually allows you to provide a lot of manual control. TALA used to be commercial, but is now open source.
In my own testing, TALA tends to produce much better layouts than Mermaid, including the ELK layout algorithm (which is not Mermaid's default; D2 also supports ELK).
TALA supports controlling direction per container, defining which shapes have to be near each other, and so on. I've not played with this yet, though.
Most go codebases I have seen would benefit from using a framework TBH.
Sure, not using a framework is nice for a small and simple service.
When you have multiple devs working on a large codebase over the timespan of years, a 'heavy' framework is highly prefereable over everyone reinventing the wheel.
Maybe they haven't suffered consequences because the law has continued to slowly break down and erode on account of (no pun intended) favoring a select few with special privileges.

No, I think the overwhelming majority of copyrighted material should already be public domain. We should all be free to build on it as we wish. I don't begrudge OpenAI et al. for doing it at all. I begrudge copyright lobbyists for saying the rest of us shouldn't be able to do the same. Because my position is consistent instead of being based on whether I like someone.
